Project Narrative
Audubon Regional Library engaged us to design a new parking lot and playground on the library grounds in Clinton, Louisiana.
The project called for the complete replacement of the existing deteriorating asphalt parking lot, along with the addition of a small playground and a covered shade pavilion.
The design includes a new concrete parking area providing 11 standard spaces and two accessible (handicap) spaces, supplemented by a limestone-surfaced overflow lot with 10 additional spaces. Concrete sidewalks encircle the parking areas, ensuring safe and convenient access for library visitors. New signage was incorporated at the street frontage and near the rear of the building to improve wayfinding.
The playground is fully fenced for safety and features modern play equipment, a large swing set, and a generously sized covered pavilion for outdoor events and programs. A prominent artificial turf berm faces the pavilion, creating a comfortable seating area for children and families during events. An additional earthen berm was included to provide further playful topography for children to enjoy.
This project successfully transforms the library grounds into a more functional, attractive, and family-friendly community asset.
